Father's Day Poem

My DAD!

My dad is like a fast mustang.
He is always moving fast and working hard.
Every day he will rev up with rage if we aren’t ready for school or he’s had a really bad sleep, and say in a deep voice “Hulk smash!!!”
But most of the time he is sweet, shining and a big show-off.
He can also be as silly as a slimy plastic chicken and as friendly as a goose.
I love my dad down to the engine.

Father's Day Poem

My Dad
By JML

My Dad is a book.
He is really funny and full of knowledge.
He is probably 100 pages long.
My Dad book is still in the writing.
I am proud that my Dad is a book
because I am always learning new things from him
and we always have a good laugh over his jokes.

Father's Day Poem

My Dad
My dad is a black cat,
He gets really scary if I don’t go to bed early and his eyes glow like two lanterns when he’s mad.
He has silent feet that creep though the quiet night.
He has a fur coat soft as chocolate syrup.
He has a chin full of tiny whiskers that feel like sand paper.
I love my dad and his purr makes me happy.

Father's Day poems

My Dad
My dad is like a joker, funny but caring.
When I’m feeling down, he brings me right back up.
He’s the light of my life.
He’s protective of his family, even if it’s hard, and he loves his sport.
My dad is a joker because he’s incredibly funny, cool and super smart like an awesome calculator.
I really love my dad.
I love him like a teddy bear.

My Dad

Here are some excerpts from our descriptions of our Wonderful Dads:

AF:
My dad id awesome and loving.  He's into a lot of sport, especially soccer and rugby, but he prefers to watch rugby on TV.  I sometimes like his taste in fashion. Most of all, he is soft and cuddly like a teddy bear.

BM:
I love my dad - I will love him forever.  Sometimes he gets lazy and grumpy, but I love him how he is.  My dad is like a busy bee, because he is always busy.  He loves his food and drink, because he has a big appetite.

NM:
I love my dad because he plays with me.  Every night he tells me about his childhood.  He is a teddy bear - he is not a grizzly bear.  He is the greatest dad in outer space!

RS:
My dad loves watching rugby on TV.  He likes making fire and cooking sausages.  He likes cars and chocolate.  My dad looks dead when he sleeps.

EM:
My dad is the best dad ever, because he is fun, loving and kind and he never lets me down.  One of the best things about my dad is that he is brave and as strongheaded as a lion.  Though my dad is not little any more, he is still fun and has an active body.

MC:
He is the best dad to ever live on planet earth.  He adores running and jogging on a hot, summer's day.  He yells at the TV really loudly when watching sport, mostly rugby.  He has all but hats on his head - no hair at all!

FS:
My dad is seriously sporty.  He always knows the answers to 'The Weakest Link' because he is so intelligent.  He is a pro at watching TV.

RZ:
My dad likes to play active sports.  He likes to keep fit by running and playing soccer.  He is afraid of big, scary snakes.  I love my awesome dad!

SW:
My dad is like a Ford because he is always busy.  He loves going on camping trips around the country, rain or shine.  Dad also likes going on runs and he likes to brag.  Although he can go crazy with anger sometimes, he's still awesome. I love my dad because he does a lot of things and in the end he will have a beer.

FW:
My dad is a super good model shipshaper, when it comes to the wood world of the work bench.  When danger calls, dad defends from the terrible temper tantrums of truth.  Thursday is the day for dad to relax, he races to the bar for a beer with his buddies.  In the weekends it's his time to make my life great by taking me where I want to go!

LC:
My dadn's name is Dudley.  He is kind, caring and super smart.  He can be quite noisy, but he's the bravest mand I know.  I love my dad very much.

SG:
My dad's favourite foods are fizzy drinks, crunch chips and chocolate.  He likes them so much, he sucks them up like a vacuum cleaner.  When my mum is working late, my delightful dad cooks dinner for the family and I think he is like a spider, because he has his hands full!

Pirates of the Curry Bean - feedback

WOW – last night I saw your production for the first time and I was blown away (and that had nothing to do with the curry beans either).  It was without a doubt the best night of entertainment I’ve had for a long time!  The way you performed and worked together as a team was incredible and I would not have thought I was watching a bunch of primary school students.  All the hard work was so worth it – and I just think it was a shame that not every parent in the school got to see and enjoy it.  Make sure you thank your teacher for all their input and effort because without them you would not have been able to shine as brightly as you did.  I was very proud of the students I have taught in the past; as I’m sure many of the other junior teachers were too!  I hope you learnt a huge amount about the privilege of performing and team work, and that you will take any opportunities you get in your future to do things like this again.

Awesome work everyone and thanks again for a great night.

Values - Consideration

Our current value is Consideration.

Here is what we think consideration is:

AF: If someone is feeling sad you try to cheer them up.
SW: If Mum has a headache I will be quiet.
BM: You consider other people's cultures.
EM: If someone is trying to do their work, you do yours and don't bother them.
JD: When you think of someone else and care for them.
VH: You do not talk when someone else is talking.
SW: Careful thought or attention (according to the dictionary:)
CS: If someone has a headache you don't bother them.

Autor visiting our school

John Parker visited our school on Wednesday to tell the children about his writing and how the process works.  It was very interesting to listen to how he writes down his ideas and how he reworks his writing to improve it and get it to be 'perfect'.
